Shanidar is the small continental area in the northwest corner of the above map. It was once part of an empire that controlled virtually all of the area shown, the Lormyrr Empire. This empire was a theocratic one, Church and state being virtually equivalent. The individual states that made up this empire eventually gained more autonomy. At this time the empire has broken into individual stated and loose confederations. The general areas are:
Shanidar - The Eight Nations in the northwest corner of the map
Southern Kingdoms - Mainly Ruatha, the Arvelian Confederacy and the Southern Kingdom, all in the large southern continent.
Lormyrr - The northeast section of the map
In addition to this area, the area in the southeast part of the map is frontier, not under control of any "civilized" nation.
